Ephesians 6:13-18 ( message bible) says: “Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.”
When tragedies happen we find that our peace is disrupted by doubt and worry. The questions of why and how can we possibly heal from this fill our thoughts and prayers. It is in our nature to be fearful, to worry or become anxious when life seems so unfair. We try to piece together the fragments of our hearts that are torn when such awful things happen in the world. The Word of God says in Philippians 4:6-7 , “Don’t worry about anything: instead pray about everything”. God is so in love with us that He hears our every prayer. He comes to heal our broken hearts, to fill the void left in us by tragedy. We have to be willing to let go of our worry, anxieties and broken hearts and allow the Master to guide us through. God knows, He sees and He is working it out for our benefit.
Gods love and peace can transcend our deepest hurts and renew us. Bringing us into the light of His grace and mercy. Friends, we need the Lord. We need the Lord’s guidance in our lives. We need His love to permeate through us so that we can help those hurting, heal.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost be with you all.
